Expos & Events we attend:

To reach our goal it is often neccassary for us to get out and meet people, pass out flyers, spend time explaining the plight of unwanted animals. To this end we attend expos and functions were we can spread the word. Any contributing member is more the willing to join us in any such event.

NEARR will hold it's next monthly meeting in Hartland, Maine on Feb 11th, 2007 at 2pm. Contact us if you would like to attend and need directions.

NEARR does not currently have any special events planned at this time. If you would like to inquire about a public Show & Tell, or perhaps a private Show & Tell for birthday parties, etc. please feel free to contact us.

Past Events

NEARR held a Show & Tell event for Pine Tree Camp in Rome, Maine on September 20th at 10:00am. Several T-shirts were sold to happy members of the PTC. Thank you to all NEARR members who helped and to the PTC for having us there. The donations were greatly appriciated.

NEARR attended the All New England Reptile Expo in Manchester, NH on Saturday, October 14, 2006 from 10am to 4pm. It was a productive trip and the few animals we brought were adopted. Thanks to everyone there.

NEARR recently attend the sixth annual Portland Maine Reptile Expo hosted by the Maine Herp Society in Portland, Maine on August 27th, 2006. We would like to thank everyone who helped run the table, as well as those who stopped by during the day.

Show & Tell at the Northeast Occupational, August 24th, 2006

NEARR attended PetFest '06 in Oxford, Maine on August 12th, 2006. We brought a handful of animals that are currently being fostered at NEARR so people could see and hold them. Several membership applications were taken and our NEARR organization cards were given out. Hopefully some of you reading this came here after meeting us at PetFest. NEARR did a Show & Tell event for the Hartland Public Library in Hartland, Maine. We'd like to thank the Hartland Public Library for inviting us and for their monetary donation to NEARR's efforts in rescuing and finding homes for pet reptiles in need. Show & Tell at the Pittsfield Public Library, July 25th, 2006

NEARR held a fund raiser outside the Palmyra/Newport Walmart on May 13th. The members who ran the fund raiser raised $200.00. This money helped cover our new banner which we hung at the fund raiser and will be used at the expos and other events we attend. All extra money raised will be used for the care of all animals NEARR currently houses and to help cover some of our operating expenses.
